It's mighty pretty on the drive to Blacksburg, VA, this time of year, which is one more reason to check out Virginia Internet Technology Week September 13-17 at Virginia Tech. It's a week-long conference showcasing Internet technology including professional development seminars in areas such as creating user friendly Web sites, security, privacy, knowledge management and predicting the impact of the next generation Internet. Seminars range from the technical for engineers and technicians, to creative and human-interaction for business managers and content developers. The opening day of the conference features keynote speaker Donald Upson, Virginia's Secretary of Technology, and US Representatives and Internet Caucus co-chairs Rick Boucher and Robert Goodlatte. Friday, September 17, is Internet2 Day featuring Douglas Van Houweling, President and CEO of the University Corporation for Advanced Internet Development (UCAID) and keynote speaker Craig Winn, chairman of Value America.
